Suggestion Sal probably won't like

When an admin/mod issues an offical warning, I assume the other admin/mods hear about it. However, the civilians of NS do not, until the issue is raised by an admin/mod or the warnee.

Essentially what I'm suggesting is visible warnings on nations, most likely temporary. Something saying, "This nation was bad! Watch him and tell the Mods if he does something Bad again! " sorta thing.

The original idea was for the forums, but I remembered the typing-to Sal gave me about not messing with thr forum code (that was the modlings that could tag threads for other mods to see)

This would enable password regions to check a nation before acceptance, or Founders/Delegates to check a nation before appointing him/her to a Regional Position, etc.

Something visible, as if to say, "Here had been her sin; here, her sorrow; and here was yet to be her penitence"?

Oh no, I don't think I could bear that again ....

No, just saying, "Watch out! I'm eeevvvilll!!!"

I personally don't like that idea. A nation could do something bad but learn his or her lesson right away. Not everyone is evil or stupid. This idea would just put a stain on a nation who made one mistake. That isn't a good idea.

CI, I'm not saying one warning gets you marked. If someone is repeatedly warned, or given a more serious warning, then they'd get marked.

good idea, although it will propagate a playground metality .

I would suggest perhaps a black X or star placed inconspiciously on the nation.

I would also sugest a statute of limitations be put into place, IE, new nation comes in, accidentally spams region, six months later he accidentally posts twice in a regional board, and bam he is deleted, little things should be given a statute of limitation, however only if they go clean nosed for a while.

In that case, I'd have to say that no nation would survive long enough to get the kind of treatment you're suggesting.

You see, that's about the point where they get modbombed. "Think about it for a moment."

Well, I'm saying if a nation has repeated offences, but not enough to be modbombed. Also a way to say, "Look. Big brother is really watching you now..."

Someone who's been given several warnings but not enough for a modbomb, sorta thing.

Loop, I didn't mean literally put a sign saying "I'm evil" on a nation.

Not a natural cynic, I would still wonder about the scope of this assumption.

We make notes so that when another mod looks at the nation, they see the warning.

...But what about warnings visible to the common people?

It could cause a person to be unfairly biased against later on if their warnings were made visible to everyone.

This is my fear, some young n00b might have spammed some message boards without knowing it was illegal and has a stain on his nation for ever... :(

The mods would decidewho got marked, not a program. So if a new nation spammed, they would only get marked if the mods thought it was intentional.
