To Whom It May Concern,

I have repeatedly tried to get into the United Nations, but no email comes through even though I get a reply from the U.N in my telegram in NationStates.

Please help?

Thanx,

Cyperius

Check your filters to see if the mails have been blocked, and check your junk mail folder if you have one.

Change email addresses if you can't access the filters...

funny as it is...

i'm not getting my email either..

i've already used this email-address 2 or 3 times to switch un nation, and got no filter on it.

applied 2 times already, and still no email..

I recently applied a nation to the UN and received an email promptly. Please double check the email in your nation's settings, and then make sure that it isn't filtered. Those are the two most likely causes.

i did both, double-checked if the email was correct, checked if the filter was still off..

On my hotmail account, I haven't been receiving the email. I have gotten emails in the past several days on other accounts, though. I have switched the address for that particular nation and reapplied, I believe it is just hotmail being retarded.

Are you two using hotmail perchance? I know it used to work... but it definitely isn't working for me now.

You aren't with RoadRunner, are you? They've been very aggressive with their spam filtering lately, and it's damn near impossible to get a site whitelisted once they've added you to a spam list. You don't even need to be an email sender - they're blocking whole IP ranges at a time.

If it's not RoadRunner, it still could be your ISP. In some cases, all it takes is one complaint to have an entire domain declared a spammer. Yahoo does that, though you have the option of whitelisting your own mailbox if a mistake is made. A lot of those filters are on the server level. Ask.

yep, hotmail...

great, getting millions of emails i don't want, but they block the one i do want..even without filters?

*goes off to change the email, and to shoot the hotmail server*

I read somewhere that hotmail routinely blocks 70% of all mail received. It tends to be totally arbitrary too - your UN emails might just turn up in 3 or 4 weeks.

I work part-time for a commercial site, and we refuse to deal with clients who use AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo and WebTV. They can set up a free webmail client on our site and autoforward to one of the big boys if they want, but we got tired of dealing with the continual bounces.

*helps CG shoot the hotmail server*

It's terribly frustrating to not get UN emails when you have everything planned so carefully about what nation should be in the UN when.... Grr.

RoadRunner, no. And I doubt it is my ISP, as it's a univ network, but *shrugs* I can't know for sure.

(also got 2 recruitment telegrams when i reapplied  ) Only two? That's pretty good, I usually get about 10 ;)

And yeah, it comes when you get the telegram, so if you get the telegram and not the email, something's wrong...

okay, i've checked if the address is spelled right, checked the filters, put the emailaddress on the safelist, tried another (not hotmail) email address, i've switched un with this emailadress (the hotmail one) before (more than once) and it worked perfect everytime..

but after almost a week, my nation is still not in the un..

anything i forgot?

(and yes, i did get the telegram each time)
