Predicting population growth?

Can this be done? Is there a formula that will tell me the number of days until a nation with population X reaches population Y?

The amount your population increases by day varies by a million or two, and to an extent it increases faster depending on how large your nation already is.
Your best bet is to find a nation founded X number of days before you, and see its population. This will give you a rough estimate of how long it will take.

By the time you reach about 50-60 million you will increase by about 7/8 million each day. This won't increase anymore, although I have had occasions when my population has increased, on just one day, by 12 million.

I grow by 5-7 million each day. :?
And 12 million? Maybe much older nations do increase by slightly more, and we just never noticed it before.

Your population grows 1 million until you reach 10 million, after that it will grow by 5-7 million like Qaaol said. Anything else is a bug (though not necessarily the famous pop bug), according to Salusa.

Anything else is a bug (though not necessarily the famous pop bug), according to Salusa. When I joined I watched the population of Qaaolchoura, Nokhcheav, Lhaozaand, and Taab quite closely, and discovered that

5 million to start
1 million a day to 10 million
2 million a day to 20 million
3 million a day to 50 million
4 million a day to about 100 million*
5-7 million a day after that
Either Qaaolchoura and three of my puppets caught a very unusual bug, you misinterpreted what Salusa said, things have changed since July-Early August, I wasn't watching my puppets as closely as I thought, and my main nation caught an unusual bug, or Salusa is not omniscient after all.

*I was in CA for this period, and could not watch very closely

Heehee, Qaaol, you do need a life.

Not that I don't ;) I've been watching Unfree's population for a while, as well as some of my newer puppets, and they have conformed to the 5-7 million rule as far as I've been able to see.

Seeing as Unfree is almost 2 billion and these puppets are 300 and 500 million respectively, either I've not been as vigilant as you, or it has indeed changed since July-ish.
