If there's a region with only the founder in it and the founder dies, how long before the region ceases to exist?

If there's a region with no founder and only one nation and the nation dies, how long before the region ceases to exist?

If the last resident of the region dies or departs, how long? Does it happen at the next server update? I've read the server updates twice a day, so will the region die immediately or within minutes of the founder's death, or wait 'til the next update? Or longer?

If the founder has a region password protected, does the password die with the founder, or does it die with the region? That is, if a region's founder password protected it and then died but there was still another nation in the region, does the region lose its password protection, assuming there is no UN delegate controlling it? Or is the region stuck with a password no one knows?

What rights does this sole remaining nation have to the region if it's not the UN delegate and the founder dies? As a native I suppose it has the right to stay there, but anything else?

My understanding is this:

When a region is empty at update time (for that region) the region will be deleted. When the last nation in it (Founder or otherwise) ceases to exist due to idleness, the region will either be deleted immediately or stay there until the next update (never paid much attention to that one, anyone know for sure which one it is?)

Password protection is part of the region itself, so it remains regardless of whether a nation (be it founder or delegate) ceases to exist. It is therefore possible for a region to have an unknown password.

As far as the rights the sole remaining resident has... yes, it has the right to simply stay or move out... whether or not it has the right to get the password removed by a mod, I'll leave that for a mod to answer.

The only way for a region to die is for it to be empty during an update.

I do not know if Mods will clear a password if there remains only a single nation in a region (without access to the controls).

Can someone refresh my memory? Here in the PST zone, the servers seem to do something around 9AM & 9PM, then again at 3AM & 3PM. I'm not sure which times are the "update" times I need to watch.

Basically I have to watch for the last nation in a region to die, then wait 12 hours for the region to die.

In PST, the nighttime update begins at 1 AM and runs until maybe 3 or 4 AM. The afternoon update begins at 2 PM and runs for about twice as long. After the last nation in there ceases to exist, the region will expire at the next update.
