Why don't polls bump your count?

I think having polls which boost your poll count would be a good idea. It would reduce pointless messages - and people will enter more polls so the thread starter gets a good idea of what a majority of people think. Is there a specific reason that polls don't boost your count?

Yes, answering a poll is not a post. The count is a post count, it does not include polls because all youd have to do would be to answer one question. This takes no effort, and they want you to discuss why you answered the poll the way you did, before they up your count.

Yeah, polling isn't a post, it's a count. No polling counts, please, ever.
