I recieve two issues a day... Is this all I can do to control my nation? I'm a bit puzzled as to if there are any other options.

All the options are in the 'Settings' section, linked to from the bar on the left hand side
The settings can change your currency etc and the UN affects your nation somewhat, but for the most part you either RP, and/oror if you region is large intraregional relations, and/or create alot of nations and get involved in interregiona relations and/or in game empires.

ChrisThere are the forums (where you can RP and chat) and the regions (where you can chat or invade).
It takes a while to get into the game. I suggest you browse the forums a bit.
