I was wondering if instead of sorting things by < 1 2 3 . . . 15000 15001 15002 > if you could sort it using their first character, sort of like this:
< 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z >
and then have multiple pages inside each of those categories. Personally, I don't think the first mentioned system (underlined above) works well at all, because what if you needed to get to page 10000? And also, if you were looking for a region or nation and knew the first letter but not the exact spelling, it would allow you to search much easier than guessing at what page is S (9000 or 12000?). I think this change should affect every list that uses the first mentioned system (underlined above).
