this might sound like a nit picking issure, but whatever.

two days ago my pop. was at 1.08 billion.
yesterday my pop. was at 1.13 billion.
today my pop. is at 1.12 billion.

this is the first time i've ever seen my population... well... shrink. Does this happen normally? or what?

Most likely answer is you misread it yesterday...

Yeah, you probably misread it. But keep an eye on your population and see if it shrinks any more.

Not to flame, but can you count? According to that post, it went down .01 billion today.

Judging by his other posts, I would say the matter is in doubt. LOL.

Your forum date indicates Dec 2003... you shouldn't even be at 600 mil, let alone 1 billion

Resurrected nation, perhaps...

Yeah, population shrinks. I'd guess it's a glitch in the server. I'm well over a billion population, but it takes a sudden drop sometimes.

From my calculations, it takes 6 months to get 1 billion normally without the pop bug. Most 1 year old nations are about 2 billion.

Um.. why does it have to be a glitch ? :)

Because although in RL people are able to leave a country and move somewhere else, that doesn't (sorry... shouldn't) happen in NS. It would be more realistic, but far too complicated to implement. So, if your population is dropping, there must be a fault of some kind. Or else [violet] has gone on a drug-crazed powertrip and decided to do horrible things to people's nations.

Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.127 billion...

Well, it grew by 7 million people this time. :?

I'm supprised no one brought up the reverse population bug..

And how would you know this ? you don't have access to the code :) What's to stop the coders from putting it in ? :)

'Tis a resurrected nation, just for the record. Anyone have any ideas why the sudden shrinkage?

some similar thing.
i've got some puppets created on the same day. since not all nations grow by the same number every day, some of them are (sometimes) 1 or 2 million bigger. nothing special, but when the UN-report is about the largest nations i noticed that the puppet of, let's say 334 million was ranked lower than the 333 puppet. that's a little strange, but could be explained that the 334 million was created later on the day then the 333.

never seen shrinked nations though...maybe the server forgot your last growth while updating and counted the new people by your old population. but this update added 6 million in stead of 7. don't know if this is possible... but you never know what happens when you cruise around during update time...

Do you know who [violet] is n00b? Furthermore, do you know who SalusaSecondus is?[/sarcasm] :p We have it on good word from them on many occasions that population doesn't grow backwards, but upwards, and is completely random. So, as Henleaze Avenue says, the only explanation which can bring in your theory is that [violet] went on a drug trip and screwed over some random nations
