In the forums, is there a character limit in posts? I was told 10,000.

I just tested it, and pushed "preview post" and I got about 120,000 charcters. So 10,000 isn't the limit.
Well, not unless the forums subtracts the extra charters when it posts. No real way to find out without posting.

Indeed, the preview is a tad messed up. Peng-Pau probably knows of a hack to fix it, but I doubt that [violet] would implement it.
