it depends on how you answer issues...if yo umake your people happy and safe the population will go up more.

This is incorrect. Nothing you can do effects your population growth. Issues, vacation mode, and anything else leave it untouched.

I think the amount your population grows per day depends on the currect population
It's something like...
5-10 mil. 1-3 mil a day.
11-20 mil. 5-7 a day
etc. etc.
Those might all be completely wrong, but the point is, as time goes on, your nation will grow more and more per day, but randomly within a few million. However, there WAS a population bug, which I think is stamped out now, but some nations had an especially large population growth, so they have many more people that other older nations.
