I know all the mods are probably sick already abouyt the new forum, but this is actually a suggestion that might ease your workload re: moving threads.
A lot of people seem to understand gameplay as being whatever aspect they play here, hence we still have rp topics popping up. Now thats all well and good since as far as I can see theyre being moved with a minimum of hassle, and I commend you all for it (whatever my commendation is worth, probably little enough!), but perhaps, if the name was changed to non-rp Gameplay, or something more indicative of its status?
Myself I dont see the few rp threads as a problem, (strange, now that theyre not supposed to be there, everyone is less worked up about their presence), but moving threads is probably a tedious enough job for you good people without these ones, which can be largely avoided with a minor alteration methinks.

On a side note, does anyone have a better name than non-rp gameplay? Somehting that would fit in better with the other names? Thats if the mods thinks this is neccecary of course.

I don't think that changing the name is going to fix it. RPers want as many forums as possisble, and the only way to solve it is to simply remove the RP.
Moving it to Nuts & Bolts might help somewhat though (although there was a brief period, about a week ago, whe they tried to hijack the Moderation forum to deal with godmodders, OOC posters, mod-wannabes, "mod-wannabes", and pretty much everything else that was not illegal but ticked them off. . .).

I think this is a thing which will correct itself once we get more people posting the right kinds of threads in gameplay.

TO give the rp'ers their due, the established players are staying away. From the threads Ive seen since the ruling was made, it has been rp-novices. Or at least thats the impression I got.

Indeed, it is mainly n00bs trying to subvert it now, although there are some established RPers bcking them.

And until the ruling was made, it looked like some of my old friends were going to become enemies.

Yes, but I've seen that when a mod says "this is in the wrong forum", oftenan older one will say "I would disagree, but oh well".

You're quite right. I hadn't looked at it like that.

Personally, I feel that the current Gameplay Forum name and description (Talk about nation management, regional politics, and why llamas are a cooler national animal than squirrels) are reasonable, and there are enough explanatory announcements and stickies in there to make it obvious what it is about. At least, to those who choose to read them. There will inevitably be some misplaced RP stuff posted, but as it gets moved out, people will get used to it and it will acquire it own (non-RP) feel. We are not going to let it get hijacked, if that is what you fear.

I was worried, with at least three RPers posting much of their RP in an attempt to take it ove, and the pessimism of several in-gmers already.

I waswnt particularly worried about it being hijacked, not since it was judged to be rp-free at least. Like I said, you (mods) have all been doing a wonderful job in clearing the rps back, it was more a suggestion so that you wouldnt have to keep doing it ;)
