a lot of nations and regions are making websites of their country, maybe it's a good idea to update the 'Settings'-page and make some room to place for a few URL's? Maybe this URL can be renamed too; so you can't see 'http://etc.' but in place 'thenationshomepage', it would look a lot better, I think.. :roll:

URLs wouldn't make the game run slower... it's perhaps 1kb of additional code. Abuse would be pointless, seeing as nobody would be stupid enough to click on a link to Goatse or anything.
I quite like the idea.
I'd strongly suggest that a link similar to this go next to the webpage

The base alread exists within the forums base, so we could edit the coding to take from the game to the www button. ;)

Abuse could be countered by using a slashdot-style URL system. To revent goatse etc. links, they do "URL Name (blah) (blah.com)", putting the base URL section in brackets after the link, providing an easy way to notice abuse without actually clicking.
Also, just prevent goatse links etc. from being inputted - a filtering system, as such.
My two cents, not that I'd fall over and eat myself if this doesn't get implemented :P
