A lot of times, when I post, my browser has an error and says it performed an illegal function and closes. Is there a reason for this? Can I do something about it?

Sounds like my creaky system (Win 98, IE 5).

What I do is just shunt the error message to the side and keep going.

Your computer has been infected by the deadly virus known as 'Microsoft Windows.'
Use this. It's far superior. (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/)

If you're using Microsoft Windows and/or Internet Explorer, you can go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com and download whatever updates they have. IE 6.0 with all the various endless patches (on Windows XP) has been remarkably stable for me.

Do you use 98, by the way? The NT versions of windows (NT,2000,XP) have all been a lot more stable. Plus I havn't seen that error since I switched to 2k (different error when IE crashes, much less frequently).
