Mod Backed Etiquette Enforcer(s)?

I've sent violet an email about this already, but I thought I'd bring it public to get some commentary.

I was talking to Menelmacar on IRC one night and we were talking about International Incidents, and how it turned out to be the opposite of what it was intended to do, be a forum for serious role players.

So I said "Well the Etiquette isn't enforced like it says, thats a major problem". She replied by saying that many would rather make II a storefront forum and move all role play to NationStates, but I still don't see how that would help the problem, NationStates would then get infected.

It's to much of a hassel she said, Mods have more important things to do then baby a bunch of role players. Mods don't want to take on the task? Thats fine.

I know role play wasnt intended to be part of the game in the start, but it has become a major part of it, thats the truth.

Many people, including myself, automagfreek, and a few others have tried endlessly and fruitlessly to bring back good role play to International Incidents and NationStates (the entire game) as a whole. Threads like "The concept of [good] role play and the infamous ignore" and "What belongs in International Incidents" are just 2 examples of how players have taken time to make a post with intent to try and do something good for nationstates.

I've found the problem. One thing players that try to enforce Etiquette or promote good role play don't have is support or backing. It's just us, and I guess to many, us being us trying to help out is not good enough, they need to be in fear, I've assumed, because they answer to no one except the select few in green.

So my idea is that a select few be drafted up (possibly voted* upon by the Role Play community) that are Part of a group called the Etiquette Enforcers, that are backed by mods and admin, but have no "mod-like" powers, just backing and some authority.

*Voted: The way it would be voted upon (if it gets that far) would be for a few people to be picked to be placed in a poll in international incidents where a week long vote would take place, the top... 3 would win. Something like that maybe.

I just don't think new moderators need to be appointed for this. It works out either way.
