Just a little thing, i would guess most people have read the threads saying "please can i only have mods replying to this" so couldn't you just make your thread, a mod only thread, so only mods can reply to it so you don't get answers that you don't want?

I don't know if that's possible. The only ways to make a thread which only mods can reply to that I know of is to get it locked, or have it put in the private forum...

Well, in standard PHPBB2 it is possible to set up a forum so players can make new threads, but not post in them. That way, only mods could respond. But this would also mean that the player can only make the one post.
Perhaps it could be coded so that only the original poster + the mods can post in a thread.... but a lot of threads coming to Moderation don't actually require a moderator response, so it would end up wasting the mods' time.

If that occurs, then nobody will ask moderators for things...

we're talking making mods only alound to answer of ones like "___stole my nation" or "___called my a *!??* what should i do" not "Spammer in general" as other players can give other links to other occurances

But we all know n00bs will go and post stuff like "Spammer in General", or "Can you make me founder of the region Blah" in the forums, which would end up wasting the mods time.

Actually, I frequently see other players giving other examples of flaming by the same player that one points out (unless it is a couple of n00bs quibbling).

But you gave flaming as an example of what should be locked. :?

Okay, i'll start again :x , a player can create a thread that only a mod (any kind including Sal) can reply to so they don't get non-moderator responses that they don't want,
Hope you understand

Apart from lock/announce/sticky, PHPBB does not (to the best of my knowledge, although Peng Pau may correct me on this) support permissions for individual posts. Therefore, it would only be possible to have a forum that allowed only mods to reply. Problem is differentiating between posts that did need explicit mod responses and those that didn't. A forum specifically for this purpose would probably end up supplanting the moderation forum, as people would assume they get a faster response, and so we'd get half of the common threads that pop up in mod and tech there; for example, the 'Can I have a nation revived' one.
