On these forums, the newer topics, with recent replies, are on top while the older topics, with no recent replies, are at the bottom. If someone makes a topic, and it contains an important message, but is sinking to the bottom, he can post on it to get it back on top.
They post "Bump" to tell people what they are doing, and so it's not a spam post.

They post "Bump" to tell people what they are doing, and so it's not a spam post.
Correction: The first bump isn't spam (or, at least, I wouldn't consider it spam). However, if there are several bumps in a row, then it becomes spam.
If a topic is being bumped with no real content added, then it's past time to let the topic die.

would bumping things like this (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=107350) or this (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=107298) after it is off the 1st/2nd page be considered spam ?
or only if you post "bump" then when it gets near the bottom of the page bump again ?

I would think a bump after like 2 weeks would be gravedigging, or a bump when a topic is still viewable on the first page is spam.
