A recomendation for getting more new issues in the system

19-12-2003, 23:37
As we all know there are a large number of New Issues proposed daily and most are backed up as the mods seemed to be overwhelmed with editing each issue (or simply not accepting them at all) I had this idea. Create a new type of mod, the Issue Mod. The Issue Mod can (and should) be given full access to the behind the scence stuff in NS and full benifits but they only have the power to do one thing edit and introduce new issues.

With the new type of mod at work (hopefull many people will be willing to lend the Mods a hand) the mods that do everything else can have get a break and focus on the rest of NS (like keeping the forums from crashing for example).

Just an idea. (before you say anything I am not suggesting this because I want such a job but because I thought it was a good idea).

Neat idea, but it ain't gonna happen. Now that I have bit more time, I hope to move a few more issues through the system. We should see an upswing again.

But you should at least consider it for the times when the mods don't have the time to work with the issues.

Aye, I know of plenty who would be willing to give a hand if ever Issue Mods were created.

Been suggested before, and dismissed for a number of reasons:

A. They would need knowledge of the game code
B. Issues can dramatically effect nations, and so they'd need to be very trustworthy
C. The mod forum is used to discuss issues and their editing, but also general mod functions, including disciplinary action against players, ip addresses, game code etc. which an issue mod really shouldn't see
