by joining the UN am i subject to past resolutions

14-12-2003, 20:15
I just joined the United Nations and I am concerned over some of the previously passed resolutions and how they will affect my state. Most importantly, I am concerned that the United Nations passed a resolution against the Axis of evil with only 2 votes for, 1 against, hardly a beacon of democracy.
By joining the United Nations, am I forced to change my constitution so that it is consistent with legislation that was passed before I joined?
If that is the case, I propose a legislation (i can't propose, only one endorsment as of now) whereas states are only affected by legislation that is passed while in the UN?
Also, if I leave the United Nations, do UN decisions still effect my state, and if so, is there anything short of not joining i can do to avoid this?
Thank you in Advance

OOCly, no.

ICly, yes.

If you leave the UN, the decisions do not effect you.

sorry, I don't understand what you just wrote
In terms of UN decisions, I meant that do the decisions made at the UN while I was there affect me if i leave. For example, if i see a legislation about to be passed that i am vehemently against, can i withdraw when its implemented, come back, and not have it affect me?

so to sum, UN decisions that have been made while i was not there have no effect on me

Yes, past UN decisions have no direct effect on your nation (stats-wise). However, if you RP then you may be forced to comply with them ICly (In Charecter). That is what Goobergrunchia meant in his first post.
