:?: :?: :?:
Here is what I have input.

Category: Gun Control

A resolution to tighten or relax gun control laws.
Resolution Name: Relax Gun Control on Citizens. (I've tried several different resolution names and each is rejected the same way.)

Description:
Based on the vast wealth of information available, it has now become clear that the right of the citizens to bear arms is fundamental and necessary. Relaxing gun control laws will lead to more citizens who can defend themselves. Armed citizens reduce the tyranny of governments, foreign and domestic. Armed citizens also severely reduce crime, providing for both the protection of life and property which is a cornerstone to all good communities and civilizations.

If freedom from fear, both home and abroad, is of concern to you then this proposal must pass.

Decision: Relax

When I submit, I get...

Uh-oh
The name you've supplied for this proposal isn't valid. It may contain some illegal characters, or be too short.

And I did not have any "space" problems.

There has been already a gun control proposal. Why bother to have another one? :?

there are multiple proposals of the same type in the UN... It doesn't really matter...

The question before you is... "WHAT IS THE "ERROR" THAT IS CAUSING THE SYSTEM TO NOT LET THAT PROPOSAL BE ENTERED?"

Obviously neither of the last two people can find an error.

Whether there are other proposals is immaterial. Trying the other title, no help. This is not like a moderator looked at the proposal and dismissed it, this is the system doing so which means there must be some syntax which is causing the problem. However, I (and none of the other posters apparently) have no clue as to what I have written that is bringing up the syntax conflict.

Have you tried leaving out the full-stop (period) at the end?

(Not trying to be funny, but sometimes mistakes can be because of the most obvious thing)

The period is the problem.

Now, why the heck couldn't the system just FLAG the bad character so you know it is bad. When the error screen comes up, it should print the line with a problem and put arrows or something around the bad character.

All the Gun control proposals I could find, are to TIGHTEN the rules. Mine looks to RELAX the rules. I was beginning to wonder if there was a bias in the system against guns that would not allow a relaxing of the rules.
