I cant create a 107X71 6k image.. at that size and format the image comes out at at least 24 k and wont go any smaller.. Im useing photoshop 6.
Are you saving it as a .jpg format?
You can change the compression level at which it saves.
I had the same problem, and someone here kindly helped (Loop, I think). Go into your PS preferences and turn off "image preview". That should cut the size dramatically. Myrth's advice will also help a great deal.

if 6 has the option, use Save for web, and turn off Image and Icon previews, also you will need to optimize it at 5.5 k
6 k will not load.
