Interesting (Odd?) UN Rankings For My Region

I've just had a look at the new UN rankings. My region (South Africa), lists the following:

Transvaalers is ranked 1st in the region and 32,944th in the world for Most Corrupt Governments.
Digital HIghway is ranked 2nd in the region and 55,555th in the world for Most Corrupt Governments.
Lost Ping is ranked 3rd in the region and 67,997th in the world for Most Corrupt Governments.
Zodiac Thyme is ranked 4th in the region and 75,275th in the world for Most Corrupt Governments.
Garradon is ranked 5th in the region and 75,276th in the world for Most Corrupt Governments.
Rondebosch is ranked 6th in the region and 77,906th in the world for Most Corrupt Governments.
Vires is ranked 7th in the region and 77,907th in the world for Most Corrupt Governments.
Mukumbura is ranked 8th in the region and 90,907th in the world for Most Corrupt Governments.

Numbers four and five are one digit apart, even though they are different ages, belong to different players, and have different UN categories.

The same goes for Rondebosch and Vires.

I've seen this happen with (similar) nations that belong to the same person, when appropriate issues that may affect the ranking/stats have not been answered, but this is a little weird, isn't it?

It is odd. I guess it would be said to simply be one of those conicidence that amuse, though do not really hint at anything else.

Dunno, but you are right, it is odd.

The issues, also, are not dealt out in order. The younger of the two nations might have revieved one more then the other, causing them to be around the same. :)

Possibly (although I would say unlikely) for the first odd instance, but highly unlikely for the second (Rondebosch = 1.28 billion pop, Vires = 132 million).

This often happens. It explains how nations with as little as 50million inhabitants can get into the top ten for certain things.

That's not what I'm saying at all. The numbers are pretty arbitrary, within the grand scheme of the entire system ranking. What I'm saying is that it's odd that this "one after the other" ranking has occured, especially twice, with such disparate nations, in one ranking (especially since there are only 8 nations in the region).

I just think it's interesting and, possibly, statistically very unlikely and anomalous. I'm not sure.

It's happened before. I'm usually just one behind Free Slovenia in some of the economy-based rankings.
