I can't change my motto. It says that there is a security problem when I try.

Not that I'm an expert, but I think I encountered something like this before. All I had to do was log out and re-log in, maybe something wrong with the particular session.

Special characters are disabled now.
Are they? I still have a puppet with special characters in the motto...

For security reasons the system does a check whenever you're trying to change something in your nation. The problem could be several things:
- time-out on your session
- you logged in as another nation in a different browser window
- there's an old Settings Page in your browser cache.

So, my suggestion: log out, clear your browser cache, and log back in and try again.

this happens to me all the time. I just right-click on the same page and click refresh

Yeah... the server sends you a unique key when you access the settings page. If the one stored on your computer gets out of sync with the one the server is expecting (for example, if you submit some settings, then click back and try to change them again) you get a security error.
