is there any ingame way of freezing, or seriously reducing, the population growth of a nation?

No. Unless there's a bug.

I have seen one case where putting a nation on vacation mode slowed down the population growth but it never stopped it. Also, it only happened once.

sorry. i dropped a word. it should have been population growth rather then population.

The answer is still no, population increases by anywhere from 5 to 7 million each day no matter what.

Unless there's a bug, but that's rare now.

I know of one way to freeze the population: move your nation around so it is never in a region where an update is happening. Something like: put it in The Rejected Realms at 9:00 GMT, and move it to The Pacific at 10:00 GMT. Daily.

Good idea, but it sounds like such a waste of time, and it will annoy some regional delegates.

or get it deleted by inactivity and the growth will freeze

or get it deleted by inactivity and the growth will freeze
sounds like a terminal solution.

The real answer is, there is no solution to this. K?
