I tought of a new (I think) way of classifying UN categories from left to right. I was looking at te chart by Aelerti and stuff didn't seem quite right, so I calculated each categories left-ness (just a random choice. really.) by adding one point of each leftist charactaristic (Civ: Lib, Ec: Aut, Pol:Lib) and subtracting one for each right-wing (Civ:Aut, Ec: Lib, Pol:Aut) Centrist charactaristics added zero, and here are the results I got...

I don't think so. anarchy would be the extreme left

That was a mistake, Anarchy is in the second left group, because its economy is libertarian, not authoritarian. But, I accidentally put the line in the wrong place, so looked like it as in the third left group

EDIT: Never mind, Anarchy was in the right place, because it's economic libertarian-ness takes off a full point.

Your original category assignments are flawed, because you're assuming a one-dimensional spread of political opinions. Libertarian civil rights aren't the sign of a left wing country. Take the USSR and China, for example. Neither, using the same examples, is liberal politics limited to left wing countries. Likewise, authoritarian civil rights isn't specifically right wing (take the US, circa 2000) and neither is authoritarian politics

Hm, is Aelenti a member on this site? If so, it was done very well. :D

And yes, the one that began the topic is typical left-right, which seems to be outdated nowadays with political and economic freedoms coming into play.

Aelenti and Distributed Thought both left the game.
