High(ish) UN Ranking, But No Mention In Nation Profile

In the Largest Publishing Industry ranking from a few days ago, Rondebosch was ranked 6357 in the world, which seems to be pretty good, since there were 91968 nations around at the time.

However, Book Publishing is not mentioned in Rondebosch's profile as an industry (even a minor one). I just thought this was a bit odd. Is this a bug, or just wishful thinking? :)

maybe the issues mentioned in your profile rank higher

thats somthing to be optimistic about

although i think for these un rankings they may use a semi randomised system, but youd have to get an answer of Sal probably

Your main industry is listed as IT. Your IT sector is about twice as potent as your Book Publishing industry (the game does track this stuff, it isn't really random).

In other words, it seems your IT industry completely blows away all your other industries. They might be good, but they can't compare to IT.

It's kinda like that in my country. My Pizza Delivery and Retail sectors are both highly ranked every time the UN looks at them, but they aren't listed in my spotlight, largely because my IT sector is considerable larger.

One of my nations is in the top 2,000 in the World for Agriculture, but its main industry is given as Automobile Manufacturing, which hovers at around the same level. So you could have more than one massive industry, even if you have only one listed.

You also have to consider the commonality of said industry with other nations. If very few nations focus on a given industry (say, Basket Weaving), it would be easier to top out in the rankings for it.

... in other words, it's complicated

Ok. So I assume that nations that have two or three industries listed in their profiles are because those industries are relatively equally weighted? Or is that too simplistic an understanding?

Yeah...I'm noticing that... 8)

I see . . . so you could have a main industry which is huge and ranks you high, but another niche industry which is small in absolute size, but a rare one, so you would be ranked high anyway relative to other nations. I never really considered that. That's interesting.
