X-UN Nations rejoining UN

I originally came to this forum to help people in technical need, but it quickly turned around to me needing help. Alright, here's my problem. I was in the UN some time earlier this year, before the summer. Then I wen't non-active, and when my nation was marked non-active, it was removed from the UN (I'm guessing). When I reactivated, I couldn't rejoin the UN. How do I get around this?

/me uses his new GM powers to take a look.

There's no UN ban on your nation from what I can see.

What, exactly, do you mean that you "couldn't rejoin the UN"? What error messages were you getting?

Yea, when I get the e-mail from the UN, and click on the link, one of those error messages pops up. If I remember right, it says "uh oh" and then tells me I'm already in the UN. I'll try again, maybe it'll work this time.

I tried rejoining UN quite a few times, but it never works. I just don't get the e-mail. What's wrong?

If you have a junk-mail filter, you'll need to set it to allow *@nationstates.net.
Alternatively, you might want to try setting up a different e-mail account.

You do get the confirmation telegram, right?

if you have only got one nation in the u.n then i would recommend you make sure none of your nations are in the u.n...i know it sounds stupid but i've seen people do that

We get a truly amazing amount of UN invitiation emails bounce back -- people who have mistyped their email address, or whose ISPs think it's spam, or who have "whitelist" filters that want us to re-send the e-mail with a special keyword in the title. If it's your ISP that's doing the blocking, the only real solution is to reapply with a different e-mail address.

It looks more like there's something wrong with the DB than with the E-mail bouncing back.

If I could hazard a guess, I'd say that the Master UN DB still has his name on it's list, even after his nation was deleted and revived.

I created a second E-Mail account and am testing it. I'll check to make sure I'm not blocking it or have a "whiltelist" filter on. I'll also check all my nations to make sure I'm not in the UN (though I severely hope I didn't waste your time due to my stupidity).

Alright, well, thanks anyway, but no matter what I do, it seems to fail. I never meant to waste the mods time, nor violets, with such a trivial matter. I'm really more into the forums now anyway, so getting involved in the UN isn't worth as much as it used to be.

Thanks anyway, and happy holidiays!

No, this issue should still be addressed. If it's a bug then they need to know in order to be able to fix it.

Violet, or anyone else with GM powers, perhaps if you took a look at the list of UN nations for 'Free Pacific States' you might find that it's still there. I know it has to be a big file, but if the deletions from activity are leaving ghosts in the system, you could probably delete a few KB of it.

FPS, did you try all of this on one computer? If so, it may be your personal (Computer) problem, as I so often have...
Try from another computer* (i.e. school, librabry, work, whatever's available). I currently have the oppoiste problem--my computer gets email, but can't send any out.

*one that has never had UN nations on it.

Huh...I thought this was dead...but..

In answer to your comments, I have tried on at least half a dozen diffirent computers, and it seems to have no effect.

In any case, I do not believe any of my puppets are UN nations, but perhaps it simply isn't telling me. They are: Faramount, Free Faramount, Zalebano.

I'm not expecting anything to come from this, but hey, why not get myself another post and possibly back into the UN!

Mods, if FPS were to put a puppet in the UN would you be alerted of a UN multi if FPS was actually a UN nation?

But FPS, the topic's author, is the one that bumped it. It seems better then making a whole new topic.

Pentastar is the one who dug it up in the first place, but regardless of name-calling this topic is exceedingly decomposed from having been in its grave. There is no need for it to be exhumed, and thus it's going to be locked.
