What happen when there is a Tie?

29-11-2003, 14:26
Greetings.

I will go straight to my question.

In our region we actually have a tie in number of endorsement between me and another (friendly) nation. I got the Delegate charge.

How the system works under these circumnstances? When and how the charge will change?

Thanks.

the person that had the number of endorsments first, wins. Or rather, the current delegate stays

Ties are broken in favor of the sitting delegate.

If the delegate does not participate in the tie, then the nation who's been continuously in the region the longest becomes the next delegate.

What happen? Somebody set us up the bomb!

hahah couldn't resist sorry

but really:

the person that had the number of endorsments first, wins. Or rather, the current delegate stays

No, I'll correct this comment. When a new candidate ties the current delegate he will take the position. The most recent acquisition of the current required number of the endorsments wins.

No...the current delegate stays

Ok, let's clear this up.

If there is a tie, and the current delegate is in the running, he keeps the position.

If there is a tie, and the current delegate isn't in the running (or there isn't one) the nation who has continuously been in the region longest wins.

mmm...

10 days ago, me and 2 friends moved in a region with no delegate, we endorsed each other, so all three of us had 2 endorsments.

i was the last one to enter the region, and still, my un nation became delegate..

Hadn't they moved out/in again? I seem to recall there was a bunch of stuff going on in other regions at the time as well...

Verified.

Crazy Girl is indeed correct. When there is no delegate participating in the tie, the new delegate will be the nation who has been in the region the SHORTEST, not the longest as was initially intended. Perhaps a comparison statement might've gotten accidentally reversed ;)

I suggest this to be rectified, as I feel 'seniority' in presence should count in favor of someone, not against them.

Really now? [violet] lied to me . . . , though if I remember the code correctly . . . hmmm

Ok, this will be fixed, but probably not for a day or two. I'm sending an email off to [violet] later and this will all be lumped together.
