Communication Breakdown

I don't think that there is enough communication between mods and people who don't go on the forums. For example, people would be made a mod for being helpful in the forum, but what about in Nationstates - i.e. creating regions helpgul to the system, anti-region crashers etc. What do you think? Also, are people deleted in the UN even if no-one reports them?

Not deleted, sorry, but removed from the UN.

I can't see exactly how any region, save the pacifics, RR, and maybe Lazarus are actually helpful to the system, and if we assume that testlandia is a mod/admin puppet, then they really don't count. I suppose the RPU could be counted as one, but since Stephistan was made a mod, it doesn't really support your point.

Secondly, as region crashing is not against the rules, anti region-crashers aren't really helping out in NS from an objective POV. Perhaps nations who try to stop region griefing could be classed as such, but rather than simply moving against the griefers themselves, they would be better served in bringing the griefers to the attention of the mods, who can ensure that the offence is not repeated. One must assume that anybody who consistently files useful getting help reports of such a nature would probably come to the mods' attention anyway.

People are removed from the UN if they are caught multi-ing, or submitting repeat spam proposals. How exactly they are caught may vary. They may be reported, or they may be caught in a random check. Certainly, Neut removed a whole bunch of UN multis on the night of the delegacy chaos, presumably as a result simply of his scanning those nations in the Pacific

I think the thing you don't take into consideration is that the gamw is somewhat connected, there are a lot of people who play this game in a rather dedicated manner. I believe there are some players who don't use this forum, who are very good or helpful players. However, I imagine that most players who fit the description of really effective, contributory nations do post in one forum or the other.

Keep in mind that being a mod is a large drain on a player's time. If those Pacific delegates who keep their regions democratic and safe from tyranny, anti-invaders who stop griefers from having a chance, and in some cases invaders who keep the game interesting were modded, they'd have to stop governing, defending, and invading and devote their time to mod work. Some of the best cases are already doing a lot of good where they are and would not be easily replaced.
