Dumb question, need simple answer

When you post a poll, is there a reason why it would not immediately appear in that form's main page, like a general post would?

Just the poll, or the whole topic, isn't showing up?

If it's just the poll (as in at the top of the thread) then you probably edited your starting post, which is a very bad idea when you have a poll.

Hmmm. I *tried* to post a poll in the UN forum, about 20 minutes ago, but it hasnt shown up. I just assumed maybe they had to be screened by a mod or something prior to going "live". I don't want to re-write it and submit it and wind up with a double post.

Its the whole topic. It never showed up.

Its the whole topic. It never showed up.The server has been screwy. Hit the back button and submit your poll again.

Oh, and don't forget to hit the button to "add option" AFTER you enter the last option... just a helpful tip ;)

Turns out it was a combination of "server burping" and "user error".

Small suggestion for to help newbies - in the submit poll option, maybe it should state right there that you are limited to 5 options...

Got it working now. Thanks for everybodys help!

Got it working now. Thanks for everybodys help!you are not limited. not as far as I know... just do what I said and hit "add option" after the last entry, or it won't get inputted.

I think you ARE limited, from my limited experience. I started out with 6 options in the poll, (and here comes the user error part) and after submit, it said something to the effect of "too many options". I just assumed that it "went", since I wasnt reading the fine print (okay, it was like 16 point font but I am nearsighted) on the post-submittal screen. Later I figured this out, went back and deleted an option, down to five, hit submit, and went fine from there (other than some server hiccup double posting)

I believe that there is, indeed, a limit on poll options. I think it's five, but I haven't checked, recently.

5 is the limit, although sometimes the server will glitch and double each option. That's why you see so many options on polls at times.

I've got another stupid question. Why is it that I can't create a nation with a name that's already been used, yet I've seen it remade after I tried to? First, I tried to make it, but it was used by a former nation. Then, it WAS a nation. Now, it's a former nation again. Why?

The nation owner could have asked the mods to ressurect it before letting it die off again.

Can I ask them to do that then? It's been dead for a long time (going on about 3 months, I think), and I don't think he's gonna miss it.
