Could someone get one of these to fit in under 6kb so I can make it my flag? I tried a couple of things but they didn't seem to help.
TM me for my email address if its easier to send it to me rather than upload it.

Woah, strange, the second one is bigger now than my saved copy.
Never mind, but apologies for 56kers

This is as far as I can get with them.
http://deb.org/NS-Holland/butterfly1.jpg
4997 bytes, jpg at compression level 30 (using MS Photo Editor)
http://deb.org/NS-Holland/butterfly2.jpg
4876 bytes, gif at greyscale (using Adobe Photoshop)
I'm convinced the latter can be done better using xv (as in: maintaining better size and detail), but alas I've got no access to that little proggy right now. Then again, your flag might end up too big, but at least detail could be improved by moving it to a 2-bit greyscale instead of this 1-bit.

Thank you!
But, hey, do you think you could E-mail me the JPEGs, cos when I try to save them it goes wrong.
Address is in your TM box.
Thanks again
