Changing Hyperlink to Text

I suppose I should post this question here.
How would I change a hyperlink into actual text? (while it still remains a hyperlink. Those blue worded things... haha.)
Umm... like... instead of it being the URL... "http://www.yaddayadda.whatever" it comes up as something like "Website for Yaddayadda." Text instead of the URL or hyperlink.
Haha... I hope that makes sense.

actually I prefer that the actual link be shown, too easy to hide links to goatse or tubgirl if the link is changed to some text

Yeah, true. All those hyperlinks seem to clutter up a thread though. *shrugs* I guess its good to know how to do it at least.

Of course, there should be no space between the brackets and the site adress, I just did it to show what the code should look like.

However, some links are so long that they still break the page.
To avoid sites that aren't good to go with, you can still manage even with text.
NationStates (http://www.nationstates.net)
By mousing over that link, most web browsers will show what the URL is on the bottom of the page. Lower left, usually.

same formula works for long link addresses,
jsut so long as a carrige return is before and agter the address so it is clearly seperated.
