Regional Founders
i was wondering if there was anyway to change the regional founder, whether they be dead or alive

well it had to end somewhere, as [violet] said when founders got started, it would only be for regions who were old established regions and that the grace period would be up at an unspecified time which was specified in AUgust, as for changing founders that ws No Noed early on.
so they only way to pass on my region when i leave would be to hand over my password to my nation?

well you can get everyone to temporarily leave lock the region and when it ceases to exist at the next update have the new ruler refound it, although it is tricky as anyone who is watching can Legally refound it if they get to it first.
that's what i'm afraid of. though i don't plan to go for some while i'd still like to keep it open when i leave, but not leave the region soley up to the delegate as this makes it easier to invade. perhaps something could be done to work around this
It doesn't necisarily make it easier to invade. If you take away the regions ability to access regionsl controls, even if an invasion group comes in and takes delegacy, they will be powerless-- won't be able to password, ban, or change regional factbook.

Ot just a few minutes. Specificlly, you simply need to have the region completely empty before, and during update time. The update will see no nations in there and delete the region.
