Seed's running it off his home comp, and we're trying to get more listeners.

I might not be uber topical to the forum, but i sure as hell wasn't gonna post it in General.

I think you should do news broadcasts for some major things sometimes.

Actually, it's cause seed had to do something, and turned off his comp. Since it's being hosted on his personal comp...

Which is why he, and the people he's working with, are searching for a server, or someone with an always-on computer to help out.

Oh ok,how does it work? Can you just run it through a normal webhost?

Well I meant how does it work from your end, is it just streaming mp3s or something?

Second of all, is that rap?!?!?!? eugh

Yea, thats rap, but i gotta try to appeal to everyone, until we get more DJ's who do different genres, at different times. And yes, it does stream mp3's

Ok then, I can help out if you can tell me how to set it up, do you need winamp to run it? when I clicked your link my musicmatch jukebox automatically played it....

It runs off a shoutcast server ( www.shoutcast.com )

I'm gonna try and get it set up, And I'll probably be the classic rock DJ.

We're also gonna try and work in 30second news spots about what's going on in the NS world.

I can be the metal dj once I get this working.(which will be the hard part)

Ideally, we would figure out a way to host this 24/7 on someone's server. Then we could enable remote login procedures, and have the DJ set up playlists for their slots.

Another thing that I want to experiment with would be newscasts. Wars, major IC and OOC actions, spoofs, perhaps fake interviews with characters. And we could always try to do some old radio-style spoken dramas.

This is still in very early planning stages, so feel free to comment/suggest.

Maybe, the problem is that it's only 50 megs of storage space, barely enough for 30-1 hour of music. It would be better to see if we can find a dedicated box deal somewhere.

Pluto, it's not up right now, the people who are running it are doing it off their home computers, so it will be down when there computers are not up and running.

Well,if you want to start up for now
http://topcities.com has 150 megs, but they don't support as many things, but as a temporary solution it might be a start.

Wow, look how NS has developed! First regional websites and now a radio! Whatever next?
17-11-2003, 19:51
No radio Yet! But hopefully the lad's that run this site will help us out with a server.

Well there is a un-official station. I can't say there is since its not currently any good (or endorsed by NS Staff).

Um.. This looks like it's just a wordcast, or a text-only broadcast. Unless I'm missing a link to a shoutcast server, this is like our idea only in spirit.
