n00bish question and i'm sure it doesn't really belong in here but heregoes:

nationstates alliances: I know they're Rp but to be a member of an alliance, do you have to move to their region? or just start a topic about the alliance?and one more thing, international organizations are the same as alliances, right?

All of those are RP questions and could have different answers depending on who you RP with. I'm not familiar with any of the standards about RPing though, so I can't tell you what is likely to be the case.

This thread should probably be moved...uh...somewhere. :P

I can help a bit...

1) You typically don't have to move from your region to solidify an alliance with another nation/s or organization. I have heard of some regions requiring that of smaller regions--but to me that's not an alliance, it's an absorbtion.

2) An alliance will typically start via telegrams and stay in telegram negotiation and finalization, or start in telegram and move to a thread. It depends on how the two or more parties involved choose to handle the alliance in question.

3) Organizations [i]can[/] be alliances, but are not necessarily [i]always[/] alliances. For example, the ADN (Alliance Defense Network) is an organization and a formal alliance between regions, but there are several RPing (i.e. AARP) and trade organizations that are not alliances.

Hope this helps. You can TG me if you'd like to talk more about this or if you'd like more detailed answers to your questions. :)
