Get better categories for proposals

I got banned supposedly because I made 3 proposals which fell under the wrong categories. Well, frankly, some topics just don't fit exactly under those categories. I made a proposal that no mining be done on the moon in the future and put it under international security because the collapse of the moon could lead to destruction on Earth. I dont see whats wrong with that, but oh well. I also made a proposal about keeping homeless people indoors during cold winter months, and put it under moral deceny. That proposal got shot down by the UN for being under the wrong category as well. I think its time the UN stops being so picky. These are quality proposals, not like some other ones like "Should I attack my neighbouring country", or some other idiotic ones that i've seen in the past like make cheese illegal. I personally think the UN is ridiculous, and the moderators have gone too far.

Next you'll probably decide to ban me from the website because I'm speaking against you guys.

Hmm, that is a good point that you raise - but what 'new' categories should be installed into the options, though?

1. This should really be in tech
2. I personally am in favour of derestricting the proposals, and allowing players to define exactly the effect the issue would have on specific stats. Would allow much greater flexibility in proposals

I would like to appeal the banning made against me. How do I go about that?

I don't know, perhaps by going to the getting help page or by starting a thread about it here in Moderation.

Well, number one probably shouold have been in whatever the "Protect the Environment" category is called (it's to long to type :P). Number 2 seems fine, though. It might have had something to do with the wording...can't say.

And honestly, so many people complain about how "You'll probably delete me for saying this" .. but the mods don't. People certainly get deleted for other things, but nobody gets deleted just for disagreeing with mod actions (maybe flaming while they do it, though).

New Categories that I think that we should have (If [violet] does not respond to this thread within a cuple days I shall email my ideas to them, as I would like to know if it is plausible):

World Health: Would increase world health at the expense of civil liberties and one's economy.

Educational Funding: would improve education and intellegence

Cars: would leagalize, outlaw or encourage cars

Modalert since this is pretty much officially a tech thread now that we are discussing game mechanics.

What about allowing a proposal to be submitted as more then one category (if it there is more then one into). For example, there are probably proposals that could be pro-defense-spending and pro-bussiness.

Yeah, I wanna submit a "civil rights-moral decency-furtherment of democracy-political stability-free trade-environmental-global disarmament-international security" proposal  :P

Loashia, if you look at what an "international security" proposal is it clearly has nothing to do with the actual "destruction of the earth". It says something like "A resolution to improve security by increasing worldwide police and military budgets". Now, you can argue about the UN being "picky" as much as you want, but there's no way in the world that "don't mine on the moon" is a way of increasing police and military budgets.

Of course, it'd be just as easy to ignore as so many other proposals ... that may even be a "Don't read this proposal' give away ;)

Perhaps if there were a system of changing the category instead of simply destroying the resolution?

Since the mods have the ability to take action, and they do (andI know you are preserving and following the current rules Eno) wouldn't it make more sense to allow the mod to change the UN category for a proposal rather to destroy the creative submission, as long as the submission itself follows guidelines?
