Population growth is exponential not linear

It appears to me that the populations of nations are growing at a linear rate. What's up with that?

Also, how long is one day in the world when compared to one day in NationStates?

1. NationStates was never designed to be truly realistic, and Max never expected people to hang around for more than a week or two

2. There is no fixed rule

And exponential would be hard to graph, as a new nation would take forever to pass 100 mil, and a big one would be getting 100 mil a day.

But just think of the advantages... I'd get to play with differential equations when calculating population growth :D

Boy, that was wrong! We're still here after a year (I'm here after 11 months!).

I imagin that would depend on the base and coeficient of the exponent. If properly tuned it would make things pretty interesting.
