I think it would be good to have a type of board in your nation page where you could write announcements or ideas or anything

On another note, it isn't going to happen ('till NS2, at least). Smaller customizable fields then this have been shot down before.

I think we should be allowed to make our own home page.
You can make your own homepage. Just find some free web-space like geocities & have at it. The better ones have free web-tools so you don't even have to learn HTML, which is so easy to learn it's just flat out painfull that you suggest that the people coding the game take the time to compensate for your lazy posterior.
