There is a simple patch, called 'Mozilla'. Just go to http://www.mozilla.org/ to download it. It will fix all your problems, save your day, give you a backrub and check for bad breath.

Could you be more specific with your problem. You use very vague language, which makes it slightly difficult to pinpoint the source of your problem.

For now, I suggest that you update your virus definitions and make sure your firewall works.

Also get "Spybot - Search and Destroy". Together with adaware, it should be able to catch any of that kind of stuff (plus it searches faster).

Adaware won't find that... It's not actually any problem.

Did you install the Yahoo toolbar? It might have come with that. If you didn't... then that's odd. You can uninstall the toolbar... Or you can go the long way by editing the registry and getting rid of it manually.

You should be able to remove the Yahoo toolbar in Win2000 via the "Add/Remove Programs" interface found in "Control Panel".

Failing that....

<From Yahoo Help>
"To uninstall the Yahoo! Companion toolbar, click the "Toolbar Settings" button and select "Uninstall" from the drop-down menu."

I've got Win 98 and I'm proud of it!

I believe the Add/Remove interface is similar in both 98 and 2000.

To ensure I understand you correctly:
When you right click in Internet Explorer, the last item in the contextual menu says Yahoo?
If you rest your cursor on that item without clicking, is there any text that appears in the taskbar? Is it possible that you have this product installed on your computer? http://www.outsonic.com/ProductInfo.asp

If all else fails, kick the computer, scream and curse at it. That'll show the bugger whose in charge ;)... There is never anything wrong with a little percusive maintainance to get the computer to do what you want it to do. Then again, you could use TrendMicro (http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp) to check for other problems, nice little handy online tool.

Adware 6 is also up to the test. It should do the job. But, if in doubt, throw in a little Spybot. Or, run a goggle search to see if other forums have a solution for your problem.

Of course, you could ditch IE in favour of Netscape, Mozilla, Opera, Mozilla Firebird... ;) or, Konqueror if you're feeling ambitious enough to have Linux on your computer.

Also, check your installed files in the Add/Remove software utility (found in Control Panel) and see if there is anything that looks out of place, like a toolbar or something related to YAHOO that you don't remember installing. Then, from there, uninstall it.
