This is seriously starting to get annoying. I've processed about 20 issues with absolutely no change to my nations rankings, and I picked the options that would most certainly swing it to the left.
I don't understand why it just stops.
I would guess it is because of your population. You have a lot of people, it is going to take a while to have a real change.

There are changes to your national statistics. However, these changes are sometimes small enough that you can't see them.

The game doesn't rank the categories on a left-right scale, but in a libertarian-authoritarian scale on three different dimensions: civil rights, economic freedoms, and political freedoms. It's possible the effects of some of your choices have cancelled eachother out.
