I don't get it. Everyone says that Democratic Socialists are...
Civil Rights Economic Rights Political Freedom
Centrist Authoritarian Centrist

Zachnia is a democratic social county but I have "excellent" civil rights, a weak economy and "very good" political freedoms. Shouldn't I be something else?

Yes, I've seen that. My question is, however, why am I a democratic socialist contry, if me civil rights and political freedoms aren't centrist?

No, it makes sense. You have very good but not outstanding political freedoms and civil rights, and a poor economy. Thus, that places you into the Democratic Socialists square. Strangely, one of my nations has broadly centrist civil rights and political freedoms, but an All-Consuming economy, and is still Socialist Democrat rather than a Capitalist Paradise. I suspect that this is due to dozens of other variables being taken into account.

Is the map based on the state of your *economy*, or on your levels of *economic freedoms*? I thought the latter.

Yes, that's probably the reason for the mismatch. It really depends what assumptions one makes when looking at the thing.

The strength of your economy has nothing to do with your UN classification. Only the amount of economic freedoms (a variable not shown to you) does.

I believe the boarder line between your civil rights and political freedoms being considered for purposes of UN classification as centrist or liberal lies somewhere in the middle of excellent. Certanly "very Good" in either category is considered centrist and "superb" is considered liberal, however i know of nations (including my own) which have fluxuated between left leaning collage state and anarchy without leaving excellent descriptions of civil and political rights.

Therefore i would say that you are very close to becoming a left wing utopia, just need to work on those stats abit.
