A Question

Sorry. My knowledge of this game is outdated because I just had Nanakaland resurrected. I just have a simple question. Why does Nanakaland get new issues and Sancto get the classic issues?

If sancto is a new nation, then for the first few weeks of its life it will get the original 30 issues as written by Max

Hi, good to see you back.
I assume that Sancto is new. If so, it will get the origional 30 issues for.. say, 2-3 weeks. Otherwise, it's beyond me... :?

Evidence?

I believe this to be incorrect. As I understand it, all nations are given random issues from the issue database. I'm guessing that what Nanakaland saw was simple coincidence.

However, I have not conducted any experiments to verify this. Neither am I familiar with the actual game code.

Cog, new nations get the original issues for a bit before the new ones.

Newly created nations will receive the "original" issues that I wrote for the first couple of weeks of their life, and thereafter qualify for new, player-submitted, moderator-edited issues.

Evidence?

Finally, the Issues!

NationStates now has a system that lets Game Moderators edit player-submitted nation issues into a format suitable for use in the game. This was something I originally intended to do myself, and then you guys submitted thousands of them, which pretty much killed that idea.

But now -- finally! -- we have a system that should supply an ongoing, never-ending stream of new issues for your nations, meaning you never need grow tired of seeing that Harry Potter issue yet again. It's definitely a big improvement over the 30 that we started with.

Newly created nations will receive the "original" issues that I wrote for the first couple of weeks of their life, and thereafter qualify for new, player-submitted, moderator-edited issues.

There is currently an enormous backlog of player-submitted issues -- about 2,500 of them -- and it'll be quite a while before the mods work their way through all of that!

Thanks again to all the people who have submitted issues, and are continuing to do so -- this wouldn't be happening without you. And profuse thanks to our moderators, who do a brilliant job of keeping this place running.

actually, from what I have seen (although I am very probably wrong) it is only the UN countries which get the new issues.....please fell free to correct me....

Edit: ok, it seems I'm wrong....

What? My assertion isn't enough for you guys? And yes, I got my info on this from the news page anyway.

I should read the news page more often. The answer was right there!

EDIT: Whoops. I was supposed to be logged in as Nanakaland.
