Board policy on copyright infringement

Forgive me if this is the wrong forum, but I'm wondering whether the site owners are concerned about copyright infringement, and if so, how does a member notify a mod of a problem?

Umm, well, we take no responsibility for what's posted on these boards, however, we don't support copyright infringement . . .

Look, I can't really speak to this, so everything is basically an educated guess. However, if you are the holder of a copyrighted item which has been republished without your permission on this site, you can either report it through the "Moderation" forum (if the infringement is within the forums, or perhaps preferably report it on the Getting Help page (accessible through the FAQ link on the side-bar), this will work for a problem anywhere within NS. Finally, you can contact the site's administrator at admin@nationstates.net They essentially have final authority on this site, and they might be able to help you.

Sorry that I can't give you a better answer than this, but I'm just a techie, and this issue hasn't come up in any major manner before, thus the issue hasn't been codified.

If any copyright owner finds his/her work reproduced on the forum and wants it removed, I'll do so immediately. (This has already happened once.)

But I don't intend to sweep the forums daily looking for people who quote more than 10% of an article or anything.

Don't post entire copyrighted articles. If you wish to reference an article, provide a brief excerpt and include a link to the original source. Generally, excerpts should not exceed three or four paragraphs.
