Next Thursday, November 13th, NationStates turns one year old. I know! It's very exciting. To celebrate, I want to put up a special banner for the day. Only I'm no graphic artist, so I'm turning to you guys for help.

If you design a cool birthday banner, I'll use it on the site for 24 hours. (If I get more than one, I'll use all of them, randomly rotating.) Here's what to do:

Design a GIF or JPG banner that is approximately 600 pixels wide and 120 pixels high. The image can be whatever you like, so long as it makes some reference to NationStates.net celebrating its birthday.
Include your name in it somewhere (nation name, real name, email address, or whatever you like) and tuck that in a corner somewhere -- e.g. "Image by me@mydomain.com".
E-mail it to admin@nationstates.net.

I'll reply to tell you if it's suitable or not.

Please e-mail the image rather than post it here -- that way it can be a surprise for everyone on the 13th. :)

Don't do this unless you're happy to have your picture displayed on NationStates.net without getting paid for it. (You do get to show off to 40,000 or so people though!) And please don't send me images that you don't own the copyright to.

If you want to submit multiple images, that's great too!

Already have 9 banners I did in Doga ^_^ Only gonna submit one or two of the batch though- some of 'em are a little off-topic or not as good as I think they could be. I definately have one I'll be submitting =D

Wow, NS is one year old on Thursday! And I've only got to wait one more month until I've been on NS for a year.

I know this isn't really related but, when a nation reaches a year, is there something that we could be given?! Something to mark our commitment to NS? Just a question.

Edit: Where are you planning to fit a 600x120 banner? The one in the top frame on NS is only 264x54 (plus 104 for the Jennifer Government one...making 368, maybe 400 with the whitespace) and the forum banner is 373x50.

Depends on how many ppi you're using :wink:
I prefer to use 150, others just use 100.

Some of them are truly awesome! I just sat there refreshing my national page for almost 5 minutes, checking out all the great artwork.
