Little idea

Would it require a lot of coding to add a "regional population" ?
For example if the region has 2 nations with precisely 1 billion pop and 5 nations wih precisely 500 million pop, the regional population would be 7.5 billion.
If it's not too much work, I think it would be kinda cool to see how large a region really is
It might already be in the regional data feed, but if not you could mention it to Phoebos as a possible feature of his NS Portal.

it's not on the regional data feed, I checked

What if it's only updated once a day, like the UN Report?

I suppose it could be done at the same time as the UN report because all nation details need to be trawled through to compile that.
However, the game already maintains a count of the number of nations in the region. I assume it increases of decreases the count as nations enter or leave a region, so maintaining a population counter in the same way is likely to incur minimal overheads, and be easy to include within the current code. Admittedly, I'm making a few assumptions here, but I can't see it being that difficult to implement.

You guys do have the basic strategies that would be employed, and I will bump this up the ladder, but there will still be overhead associated with it.
