GDP? Please Explain to me.

Population: 12,000,000
Civil Rights: Very Good
Economy: Basket Case
GDP per Capita: $500
GDP: $6,000,000,000
National Budget: $768,888,000

ooc:- What is GDP per capita and GDP? This could help me a lot of you were to explain and how do u work it out? how do u work out your national budget etc? help would be much appreciated, thanks.

GDP = The total market value of all the goods and services produced within the borders of a nation during a specified period.

Ok So my GDP per capita (Whatever that is, how do i decide?) = GDP Divided by Population? (Im sorry to sound like a Dumbass but im finding it difficult to understand this.

well, there was another tool that would do extra stuff like give you your GDP and budget, and show you how much weaponry could be bought for that money etc, it was really good

however, i tried to load it (to get the url) and it gave me some "couldnt find page" thing, so it might have been taken off the web....

Edit: i just tried it from that link and it works fine....

Thanks for the links, too. I was too afraid to ask the same question for fear of being called a noob, so I did the calcs myself.. but this is much easier. :D
