NationStates Site Traffic

I've noticed that sometimes this site can be a real b!7<h to navigate with a lot of "This page cannot be displayed" messages.
My nation's page is always fine but when I go to the Forum or another country/region page it's pretty bad. I imagine a lot of people probably experience this.
Anyway around this? Like maybe posting traffic by real world hits or something so users can navigate around it and ease traffic?
I'm on dsl so I can only shudder at what dialup goes through.

The Forum: Was very bad for a long time; then fixed; got worse for a while; got better; and is now relatively good. When it's not, though, during times of peak demand, you tend to get "The document contains no data" or "This page cannot be displayed" errors in your browser. If this happens when you are trying to post a message, it does go through: it just doesn't look like it. Players often try multiple times, and so end up with doubled (or tripled) posts.

The speed reduction is largely due to this site being hit by thousands of people at peak times. Although [violet] does try to keep the software streamlined to maximise the throughput, it can only have so much effect, and as such there's no easy way to get better speeds (save by avoiding peak times)

Back in my day, we could only get on the forums at 12:00 PM EST! And we had to wait fifteen minutes for the pages to load! In the snow! And that was the way it was and we liked it!

I guess I should review that page more often. Thanks.
