No reason to delete it. I got it moved.

This game is suprisngly vercitile. If you are into Role Playing (RP) try some of the other forums-- Nationstates, General.

If you just want to focus on funny issues and running a state, just do the issue you think is best in the regualr game part.

If you want to focus on the UN, join it, look at the proposals, fiund a region you want to go into and endorse the UN DELEGATE or someone else in the region, or try to get 2 people to voute you ads their UN DEL so that you can vote on UN PRoposals. Look at the UN Forums for discussion.

If you want to focus on invading ohter regions, without RP, you can do that too. The best thing for you to do is read the FAQ when you log in.

I've been meaning to ask about that... do you do anything else?

Or, you can attempt to start rational discussions in the general forum.

In the NationStates game, you can:
1) Make decisions on the daily issues that you are presented.
2) Post on the civil headquarters board for your region.
3) Send telegrams to other nations.
4) Move from one region to another.
5) Join the United Nations.
6) Write and submit daily issues to be added to the game database. The issue has to be edited and approved by a NationStates Game Moderator before the issue is used, so there's no guarantee that any issue you submit will be included.
7) Read and post in the forums. (Obviously, you know this one because you posted here, already.)

If you create a region of your own (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=create_region), you become Founder of that region. As Founder of your region, you have access to Regional Control and you may:
1) Set the description for the World Factbook Entry.
2) Set a password on the region. Nations attempting to enter the region must know the password to get in.
3) Forcibly eject nations from your region. These nations automatically move to "The Rejected Realms" and cannot reenter your region until and unless they're removed from the regional ban list.
4) Allow or prohibit the Regional Delegate (Delegates are explained below)from accessing Regional Control.

If you are a member of the United Nations, you can:
1) Endorse another UN member nation in your region for the position of Regional Delegate.
2) Recieve endorsements from other UN member nations for the position of Delegate.
3) Submit UN Proposals to the proposal docket (if you have at least two endorsements, mentioned above; you need not be Delegate to submit a proposal).
4) Vote on UN proposals that reach the floor of the UN (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=un). UN resolutions, if passed, have an effect on your nation like daily issues have an effect on your nation.
5) Resign from the United Nations.

If you are the Regional Delegate, you may do the following:
1) Approve UN proposals on the proposal docket to go to the UN floor. If a UN proposal does not get enough approvals from Delegates, then the proposal is auto-deleted after a few days. If the proposal does get enough approvals from Delegates, then the proposal waits in line to go to the UN floor to eb voted on by everyone.
2) Vote on UN proposals that reach the floor of the UN (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=un). Why am I mentioning this again? Because Ordinary UN members get one vote each, but UN Delegates get one vote plus one additional vote for each UN member nation in their region that endorses them. A Delegate with 15 endorsements has 16 votes. Only Delegates have extra votes. If someone in your region has more endorsements than you, then they are the Delegate and you are not; you do not get extra votes.
3) Have access to, and use, Regional Control (unless your region has a Founder and the Regional Founder has prohibitied you from accessing Regional Control).

Some players that have a UN member nation like to "invade" other regions by moving into those regions and endorsing themselves for Delegate.

There is no simulated war or trade between nations in NationStates. Any talk you hear of war or trade is merely roleplay, "make-believe", done by nations posting in the forums. These players like to make-believe that they're fighting wars, or negotiating peace deals, or making trades, or whatever. Lots of players like to roleplay.

I hope this helps.

Nethenia, welcome to NationStates! :D

Me? I do some other things... my big project at the moment is the Phoebian NS Portal, which is what most of my NS time is taken up with. Way, way back I partook in a couple of RPs, but they're not really my thing. I also took part in the invasion of the pacific on Sunday, but I can't see myself becoming involved in invasions as a rule.

A lot of my interests in RL are technical, and I find quite a lot of both questions and answers in tech interesting. The mechanics of the game are far more up my street than roleplaying war or region invasion, so that's pretty much what I involve myself in

Or you can join region defenders and try and prevent crasher invader types from crashing/invading (if you are UN)

One can dream, dear Naleth. One can dream. :) Is it not better to attempt, and to stand up against a sling of braindead zombies chanting 'Democracy is good! All other government forms bad! HULK SMASH!', and search through the muck to find intelligence?

Or is it better to laugh at the monkeys which oddly figured out how to type (semi)-coherent english. I can't decide.
