This is an odd bug, can't say I've ever seen it happen myself.

Though, I can tell you it's to do with MySQL 4.x.x that this server uses which has caused numerous problems in the 2.0.4 release.

I recomend an upgrade to 2.0.6.

I've seen it before. It happens. Probably something to do with DEATed nations. Should you look at the forum profile of a DEATed nation, you'll see that it'll tell you that the nation was founded on the thirty-first of December 1969.

it's not a big problem, and as far as I know there are no adverse side-effects.

I must admit I find this hilarious, a) because it's 1969 ;) and b) 1969 doesn't exist in Linux dates... ;)

This is indeed somewhat of a parody.

31st of January 1970 is what I aways get. ;)

I remember reading about this before in webdev books; it seems that those dates are considered the beginning of "Unix time" or whatever. Beats me.

Wouldn't that sort of date be produced by a timestamp of 0?

If a nation's record in the database is deleted then it stands to reason that the joined date would come back blank when that record is searched for. PHPBB presumably uses something similar to the getdate() function to convert a timestamp to a readable date format and this would output 01/01/70 by default (or 31/12/69 if the value was minus one). I've never seen this in other PHPBB forums though, so mabey it's a result of the forum keeping a seperate user table from the game proper.

It's probably easy enough to fix if anyone cares enough/can be bothered
