'Watch This Topic for Replies' bug.

When I signed up for NationStates, I used my regular email address. Since then, I got a new account with my service provider. So I go and update my email in the settings page, and discover all the 'Topic Reply Notifications' are still being sent to my old email address. The change took place about a week ago. Can you change the emails these are sent to or are they "engrained" in the system or something?

Good point. I'll nose around on this one.

I'll bet this is related to the 'even if you change your password in NS you have to use the original on the forum' bug.

Theory: When you sign up for NS, a script creates your forum account using the information (name, pword, email) that you entered. The problem is, when you change settings in your NS account, it doesn't change them in the forum account since the two are storred seperatly.

Naleth is correct. This is because with the massive forum load we don't want to push it more than we have too. If something goes wrong with the forums, I really don't want it to hurt the game itself.

Gotcha. So I'm assuming there's no way to change the email notifications are sent to then?

Maybe [violet] might consider reintroducing part of the member details page, but including only the email field... then people could change it manually, and it shouldn't put too much load on the server
