Can You Ignore UN Resolutions? (addendum)

If you can ignore players in the forums... Well if you like all the other how many there are, can you ignore one rotten one so you don't have to leave the UN because of it?

There's two sides to this:

1- Statistics-wise, when a UN resolution is passed is will affect the stats of all nations that are UN members at that time. There's no undoing that once it has been done.

2- RP-wise, nothing is enforced by the mods. This means that if you and your friends decide to RP (as UN members) not following the UN rules, nobody will stop you. Keep in mind however that there are a lot of other RPers out there who won't enjoy RPing with you if as a UN nation you do not follow the resolutions.

Also: the game was created with one of the ideas being that UN nations are supposed to follow the UN resolutions (see the FAQ).

On the other hand, I've seen RPing taking place that nations are in fact animals (pigs, donkeys, geese), people (guards, ambassadors, soldiers), or objects (planes, cars, flight control tower) instead of countries, or that regions take the place of hotels, airports, graveyards, or highways. It's kinda weird to talk about UN Resolutions being enforced on a car...

Although it's slightly cheating, UN resolutions aren't enacted post-hoc. So, if you really didn't want to submit to an issue, you could leave the UN before it's enacted and rejoin after it. Really not a great deal of point, though

Thank you, was thinking the same. It implies that the posters or forum monsters do not have as much ownership at times as the author. And sometimes, they don't. When the author shoulkd own the post, because it is poersonal, it is quie good to lock it when they are satisfied. When not, like this case for example, best to allow discussion.

And that ends this session of Lessons From Ackbar that Mods Will Likely Think Ackbar Can Stick Up His Crawl.

Actually, UN resolutions are ignored IRL all day. So there is nothing wrong with it, really.
